UNDER WATER - STICKS & TYPHOON

These days we are constantly drawn into a stream of opinions. At a time when anyone can spread news, the truth is not always apparent. But what happens when the endless cacophony finally falls silent?

The multimedia installation UNDER WATER by Junte Unterwijk (Sticks) & Glenn de Randamie (Typhoon) creates room for peace and reflection, for people to come together and contemplate, and also to adopt a stance. This new work by the two spoken word artists is a response to the work of John Heartfield, and highlights the remarkable number of similarities between the spirit of the times then and now.

I wish you light, wish you nuance, a share for all.
I wish you dignity, wish you quiet, as everyone screams.
We all want a long life, though not on the margins.
Everyone claims a monopoly on truth.

When noise takes the place of amazement.
When you are scared and no longer dare ask.
And every attempt’s been made to talk.
Live long.
